Newman rallies for 4-3 win over Hawks

Newman rallied to post a 4-3 victory over the Rockhurst men's tennis team Sunday at the Northland Racquet Club in North Kansas City, Missouri.

Rockhurst jumped out to a 1-0 lead after winning two of the three doubles matches. Louis Keiner and Josef Truhlar won No. 1 doubles (6-4), while Agustin Cortes and Felipe Castellanos captured No. 3 doubles by a 6-3 score.

Keiner won in No. 1 singles in two sets over Kirk Bruckner Suarez, 6-1 and 7-5. Semyon Tsyrenov posted a 6-2, 6-3 win over in No. 3 singles over Ali Mounir.

Two days earlier, the Hawks fell to Metro State-Denver, 5-2, at the Northland Racquet Club. Cortes and Castellanos won their singles matches in two sets at No. 3 and 4, and also teamed up to win No. 3 doubles.
