Brown leads Hawks to 69-66 win at Lewis

Freshman Timaris Brown posted 24 points and 11 rebounds to power Rockhurst to a 69-66 victory over Lewis Saturday in Romeoville, Illinois.

Brown scored 19 points in the second half as the Hawks held off a late Lewis rally. The Flyers missed a game-tying jumper in the lane with three seconds left.

Davit Kakushadze posted 11 points, four rebounds and five assists. The sophomore forward clinched the road win with two free throws with one second left.

Rich Byhre fouled out with nine points and three rebounds. Miles White and Jake Auer combined for 16 points and four 3-point field goals.

Beau Frericks led Lewis (8-18, 3-15 GLVC) with 14 points.
