Women win season opener against Concordia-St. Paul

Logan Derosia posted four goals to lead Rockhurst to a 10-5 victory over Concordia-St. Paul Friday at Bourke Field.

Derosia scored the first goal of the season for the Hawks and then added another before halftime to take a dominate 5-1 lead going into the third quarter. She added two more goals in the third quarter.

Dani Mabry tallied five points on three goals and two assists. Carolyn Byrd collected one goal and one assist. Christine Corbin had a team-high eight draw controls and scored one goal on three shots.

Mackenzie Blair collected five ground balls and four forced turnovers. Audrey Titzer had four caused turnovers and four ground balls. Tori Julian added three ground balls.

Rockhurst finished with 35 shots and 21 ground balls. The Hawks (1-0) return to action on Sunday, Feb. 26 against McKendree at Bourke Field.
