Late run pushes Jewell past Hawks, 84-79

William Jewell rallied in the final five minutes to post an 84-79 victory over Rockhurst Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Rockhurst took a 69-66 lead on a Miles White jump shot at the 4:52 mark. Jewell went on a 9-1 run over the next three minutes to take a 75-70 lead.

Connor Renard drained a 3-pointer to cap a 17-3 run at the 12:50 mark in the second half. Nick Arensberg scored seven points in the run.

Arensberg tallied 13 of his 18 points in the second half. Timaris Brown posted 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Jake Auer scored 17 points with four 3-pointers and grabbed eight rebounds. Renard added nine points and four rebounds.

The Hawks shot 46.0 percent from the field (29-of-63) and made 11 of 27 three-pointers (40.7 percent).
