Hawks drop final non-conference game

Southwestern College pulled away over the final seven minutes to post a 72-62 victory over Rockhurst Friday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Moundbuilders went on an 8-0 run to take a 65-55 lead with 3:28 left. Rockhurst was held to two field goals over the final seven minutes in its final non-conference game.

Timaris Brown led the Hawks with 21 points and five rebounds. Miles White scored 11 points with three 3-pointers. Nico Felici tallied 11 points with two 3-pointers.

Jake Auer notched eight points with two 3-pointers. Brian Hawthorne added seven points, eight rebounds and four assists.

The Hawks shot 35.5 percent from the field (22-of-62) and made 10 of 33 three-pointers (30.3 percent).

Cevin Clark led Southwestern (11-0) with 21 points.
