Hawks end regular season with 3-2 loss at WJC

The Rockhurst women's volleyball team ended the regular season with a 3-2 loss at William Jewell Friday night in Liberty, Missouri.

The Cardinals defeated Rockhurst for the first time since 2011, ending a 23-match losing streak to the Hawks.

Jewell rallied from a 2-1 deficit to win the fourth and fifth sets, 25-16 and 26-24. The 23rd-ranked Hawks won the first set and third sets, 25-20 and 25-18. Jewell won the second set, 27-25.

Sarah Pyle led the Hawks with 22 kills and 21 digs. Tera Reberry tallied 19 kills and three blocks. Madison McClain posted 18 kills. Sydney Raszler added 10 kills.

Maureen Reilly finished with 27 digs and eight assists. Sarah Montague had 35 assists and six digs. Molly Trachta collected 31 assists and 12 digs. Gracey Janes added 14 digs.

Rockhurst (21-6, 9-4 GLVC) will play in the GLVC Tournament next Friday in Williamsville, Illinois.
