Rockhurst drops season opener at home

Purdue Northwest rallied from a six-point deficit in the second half to post a 78-66 victory over Rockhurst in the Hawks' season opener in the GLVC/GLIAC Challenge Friday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Pride went on a 31-5 run to take a 64-44 lead with 8:03 left. Rockhurst closed the game on a 22-14 run.

Miles White led the Hawks with 19 points and connected on five 3-point field goals. Nick Arensberg scored 10 points on four-of-five shooting.

Freshman Brian Hawthorne posted eight points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Nico Felici scored eight points on three-of-three shooting.

Rockhurst ended up shooting 43.1 percent from the field (25-of-58) and 44.4 percent behind the 3-point line (12-of-27).
