Rockhurst men shut out Upper Iowa

Jacopo Belardo found the nets early in the first half to lead the Rockhurst men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Upper Iowa Sunday in Fayette, Iowa.

Belardo knocked in a four-yard shot into the back center with 32 minutes left in the first half. Cristoforo LiCavoli and Jeremiah Musa assisted on the goal.

Rockhurst posted seven of its 13 total shots in the first half. Max Banestig and Daniele Bizzarri each posted three shots and one shot on goal. Belardo added two shots and one shot on goal.

Senior goalkeeper Fabio D'Errico made five saves in recording his third shutout of the season.

The Hawks (4-5-2, 2-4-2 GLVC) return home to play Quincy Friday night.
