Quincy rallies for 3-2 win at Rockhurst

The Rockhurst men's soccer team suffered a 3-2 loss to Quincy Friday night at Bourke Field. The loss drops the Hawks to 4-6-2 overall and 2-5-2 in the GLVC.

Quincy rallied from a 2-1 deficit in the second half to win its third game of the season. The visitors from Illinois tied the score at 2-2 in the 63rd minute and took the lead on a short-handed goal in the 76th minute.

Cristoforo LiCavoli gave Rockhurst a 2-1 lead on a breakaway shot from six yards out in the 60th minute. Sam McIntosh and Jeremiah Musa assisted on LiCavoli's second goal of the season.

Jacopo Belardo scored his third goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1 in the 30th minute. Belardo converted on 12-yard shot off a right cross from Luca Zallo.

Rockhurst posted seven of its 13 total shots in the first half. LiCavoli led the Hawks with four shots and three shots on goal. McIntosh tallied three shots and one shot on goal. Max Banestig added two shots on goal. Fabio D'Errico made four saves in goal.

The Hawks play Illinois Springfield at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
