Rockhurst rally falls short at Quincy

The Rockhurst women's volleyball team rallied to force a fifth set before falling to 21st-ranked Quincy, 3-2, Friday night in Quincy, Illinois.

The 24th-ranked Hawks won the first set, 27-25, and captured the fourth set, 25-22. Quincy won the second and third sets, 25-22 and 25-23. Quincy closed out the fifth set on a 10-3 run to post a 15-9 win.

Sarah Pyle tallied 17 kills and 14 digs. Madison McClain collected 15 kills with a .240 hitting percentage. Tera Reberry added 13 kills and four blocks.

Maureen Reilly led the Hawks with 37 digs. Sarah Montague had a team-high 28 assists and 17 digs. Sydney McDonald and Logan Gronewold combined for 17 blocks.

Rockhurst (18-5, 6-3 GLVC) plays at Illinois Springfield at 3 p.m. Saturday.
