Hawks rally for 2-1 victory at Drury

The Rockhurst men's soccer team rallied in the second half to edge Drury, 2-1, Friday night in Springfield, Missouri. The win improves the Hawks to 5-7-2 overall and 3-6-2 in the GLVC.

Winder Pessoa scored the winning goal with 2:21 left in the game. Pessoa connected on a shot into the back left from 16 yards out for his second career goal.

The Hawks tied the score at 1-1 on a header goal by freshman Sam McIntosh from four yards out. Ben MacInnes and Luca Zallo assisted on the goal in the 62nd minute.

Rockhurst posted eight of its 12 shots in the second half. McIntosh led the Hawks with two shots on goal. Pessoa and Daniele Bizzarri each had two shots. RU's Fabio D'Errico made four saves in goal.

Drury (3-6-5, 3-4-3 GLVC) finished with 17 shots and five shots on goal.

The Hawks play at Southwest Baptist at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
