No. 11 Maryville holds off Hawks, 1-0

The Rockhurst men's soccer team fell to 11th-ranked Maryville, 1-0, Sunday at Bourke Field.

The Saints scored the winning goal in the 44th minute off a corner kick on a three-yard tap-in by Alberto Di Pierri.

Rockhurst posted eight of its 10 total shots in the second half. Cristoforo LiCavoli led the Hawks with three shots and one shot on goal. Fernando Churin tallied two shots and one shot on goal. Fabio D'Errico made four saves for the Hawks.

The Hawks (3-5-1, 1-4-1 GLVC) play at Truman State on Friday afternoon.
