Women tie for first at Virginia McCoy Fall Invite

Grace Claney tied for fifth place

The Rockhurst women's golf team tied for first place and lost the tie-breaker to Kansas Wesleyan at the Virginia McCoy Fall Invitational Tuesday at The Duece at The National Golf Club of Kansas City in Parkville, Missouri.

The Hawks and Kansas Wesleyan both finished with a 646 team score over 36 holes. KWC won the tie-breaker by posting the best score on the No. 1 handicap hole to win the first-place award. Rockhurst shot a 326 in the second round after shooting a 320 in the first round.

Emma Mullendore led the Hawks, tying for third place with a 158 score. She shot 81 on the first day and wrapped up with a 77 in Tuesday's final round.

Grace Claney tied for fifth place with a 161 score. Claney shot a 78 in the first round and 83 in the second round.

Celia Stiltner tied for seventh at 162 (79-83). Greta Hinds tied for 14th at 166 (82-84). Caroline Setter finished 18th at 171 (88-83).
