Kakushadze leads Hawks to 93-90 win over Miners

Davit Kakushadze scored 12 of the Hawks' final 21 points to help rally Rockhurst to a 93-90 victory over Missouri S&T Thursday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Rockhurst outscored the Miners 24-13 over the final nine minutes to overcome a 77-69 deficit. Kakushadze scored eight points in less than two minutes to give the Hawks an 80-79 lead at the 6:01 mark.

Kakushadze led the Hawks with a season-high 19 points on nine-of-12 shooting. The sophomore forward iced the win with a driving layup with 28 seconds left.

Miles White scored a season-high 17 points with five 3-point field goals. Timaris Brown posted 15 points and nine rebounds. Rich Byhre (15) and Jake Auer (13) also scored in double figures. Auer also had a team-high four assists.

Ikenna Okeke led S&T (12-8, 6-6 GLVC) with 30 points, eight rebounds and five assists. The Miners missed two game-tying 3-pointers in the final six seconds.
