Brown powers Hawks past Drury, 81-64

Freshman Timaris Brown posted 19 points and 11 rebounds to power Rockhurst to an 81-64 victory over Drury Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Brown, who scored 14 points in the second half, keyed a 22-6 run down the stretch. Brown gave the Hawks a 62-55 lead with a three-pointer at the 7:59 mark. He capped the run with a layup with 1:13 left, putting Rockhurst in front 81-61.

Jake Auer tallied 15 points with three 3-pointers, four rebounds and two steals. Davit Kakushadze collected 14 points on six-of-seven shooting.

Rich Byhre added nine points and nine rebounds. Nico Felici and Nick Arensberg combined for 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Freshman Logan Applegate led Drury (7-14, 3-10 GLVC) with 18 points and six rebounds.
