Late free throws lift Quincy past Rockhurst

Quincy rallied over the final seven minutes to hold off Rockhurst, 81-73, Thursday night in Quincy, Illinois.

Rockhurst grabbed a 67-62 lead at the 7:16 mark in the second half behind a pair of 3-point shots by Aidan Clarey, capping a 25-16 run.

Quincy closed the game on a 19-6 run while hitting 15-of-22 free throws. Rockhurst was held scoreless in the final minute while committing three turnovers.

Rich Byhre finished with 10 points and six rebounds after sitting out most of the first half in foul trouble. Timaris Brown fouled out with 10 points and four rebounds.

Miles White tallied nine points, four rebounds and five assists. Nick Arensberg scored nine points on three-of-three shooting. Jake Auer and Davit Kakushadze each collected eight points.

Malik Hardmon led Quincy (10-5, 6-1 GLVC) with 26 points and nine rebounds.
