Hawks battle to draw at Fort Hays State

For the second time in seven days, Rockhurst played to a draw on the road. The Hawks battled seventh-ranked Fort Hays State to a 1-1 tie Thursday in Hays, Kansas.

Both goals were scored in the first 15 minutes of the game. The Tigers scored on a header off a corner kick in the 14th minute. Rockhurst tied the score a minute later when freshman Kaden Cripe connected on a penalty kick.

The Hawks tallied 12 shots and five shots on goal. Ben Andoh and Elluan Martins Gomes each collected a team-high two shots. RU keeper Andrea Dorella posted one save.

Rockhurst (0-0-2) hosts Newman on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
