Hawks open season with 0-0 tie at Colorado Springs

The Rockhurst Hawks opened the season with a scoreless tie at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Friday night in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Andrea Dorella turned back six shots in his first start in goal for the Hawks. The senior goalkeeper made five saves in the first half.

Rockhurst finished with seven shots, while UCCS posted 24 shots. Freshman Jake Muckerman led the Hawks with two shots and one goal shot on goal. Freshman Kaden Cripe also had a shot on goal.

The Hawks (0-0-1) play at Fort Hays State on Thursday at 3 p.m.
