Four Hawks named GCAA All-America Scholars

Brett Blau, Luke Brugman and Jack Junge are two-time All-America Scholars.

Rockhurst's Brett Blau, Luke Brugman, Jack Junge and Caleb Schmid were named 2022 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Blau, Brugman and Junge are two-time All-America Scholars.

To be eligible for Division II Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically, participate in at least 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 78.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.20.

Blau competed in nine tournaments as a graduate student. The Overland Park, Kansas native averaged 77.0 strokes over 20 rounds and posted four top 20 finishes. He shot a career-low 70 at the Rockhurst Fall Invitational and a 36-hole personal best 148 at the the Dan Salisbury Memorial Collegiate.

Brugman averaged 75.83 strokes over 18 rounds in eight tournaments and tied for first place in two tournaments. The grad student from Wichita, Kansas shot a career-best 140 over 36 holes as the co-medalist at the Rockhurst Fall Invitational.

Junge led the Hawks with a 74.38 stroke average over 21 rounds in nine tournaments. The grad student from Lawrence, Kansas won the Rockhurst Spring Invitational with a career-low 141 over 36 holes and tied for sixth at the GLVC Championships with a career-best 217 over 54 holes.

Schmid averaged 76.43 strokes over 21 rounds in nine tournaments and collected four top 10 finishes. The sophomore from Emporia, Kansas shot a career-best 225 over 54 holes in the GLVC Championships.
