Billikens hold off late rally by Hawks

The Saint Louis Billikens held off a late comeback by Rockhurst to post a 13-8 victory over the Hawks Tuesday night in St. Louis.

Rockhurst rallied from a 6-0 deficit to score four runs in the seventh and cut SLU's lead to 8-7. The Billikens tacked on four runs in the eighth.

The Hawks outhit SLU, 17-16. Michael Laudando led the RU offense with four hits and two runs scored. Cameron Gardner drove in three runs with a two-run home run in the fourth and an RBI triple in the seventh.

Devon Farrell collected three hits, including a two-run single in the seventh. Freshman Patrick Wind tallied a pair of run-scoring singles. Connor Ellefson added two hits with a RBI single.

The Hawks (16-30, 6-18 GLVC) host Southwest Baptist Friday night.
