Baseball posts 10-3 win over Lions

Hoyt Bennett drove in five runs to lead Rockhurst to a 10-3 victory over Lindenwood in the first game of a conference doubleheader Sunday at RU's Loyola Park. The Lions won the second game, 15-7.

Game One: RU 10, Lindenwood 3
Bennett gave the Hawks a 6-3 lead with a two-run single in the fourth and the sophomore catcher added a three-run double in the fifth.

  • Freshman Michael Laudando (6-5) struck out eight while allowing three runs on seven hits over 7.0 innings.
  • Cole Wagner reached base three times on a double and two walks.

Game Two: Lindenwood 15. RU 7
The Hawks jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the fifth. Lindenwood scored six runs in the seventh to take a 10-6 lead.

  • Cameron Gardner led the Hawks with three hits and two RBIs.
  • Clayton Medlin struck out eight while allowing four runs on nine hits over 6.0 innings.
