Missouri-St. Louis rallied to post a 9-8 victory over Rockhurst in the first game of a conference doubleheader Friday at St. Louis. The Tritons won the second game, 8-2.
Game One: UMSL 9, RU 8
The Tritons scored five runs in the seventh inning to take a 9-7 lead. A grand slam by Clayton Stephens gave UMSL an 8-7 lead.
- Adonis Forte led the Hawks with five RBIs. The freshman outfielder hit a three-run homer in the fourth.
- Thomas Jones allowed four runs on six hits and struck out seven over 6.0 innings.
Game Two: UMSL 8, RU 2
UMSL scored a run in each of the first six innings. The Hawks scored two runs in the third to tie the score.
- RU's Cameron Gardner hit his first home run of the season in the third.
- Freshman Ethan Kulpinski (4-4) struck out four and walked three over 5.1 innings.
