Laudando hurls Hawks to 5-3 win at McKendree

Michael Laudando collected his fifth win to lead Rockhurst to a 5-3 win over McKendree to give the Hawks a split of a conference doubleheader Saturday in Lebanon, Illinois. The Bearcats won the first game, 10-5.

Game One: McKendree 10, RU 5
The Bearcats connected on six home runs in the first six innings to take a 9-4 lead.

Game Two: RU 5, McKendree 3
The Hawks scored two runs in the sixth to break a 3-3 tie. Stevenson doubled home the go-ahead run and Stevenson then scored with the aid of a throwing error after stealing third base.

  • Laudando struck out 10 in seven innings while allowing three runs on five hits.
  • Forte had two hits with a single in the first and a double in the second.
