Forte powers Hawks to 16-10 win over Jewell

Adonis Forte hit two home runs and drove in five runs to power Rockhurst to a 16-10 victory over William Jewell in the opening game of a four-game series Thursday night at Loyola Park.

Forte led the 19-hit attack with four hits. The freshman center fielder highlighted an eight-run seventh inning with a three-run homer to left field. He connected on a solo homer in the first and an RBI single in the fourth.

Austin Murray posted three hits and three RBIs. Ethan Kleinheider drove in two runs with three hits. Tommy Kraus, Michael Laudando and Cole Wagner combined for six hits and five RBIs.

Clayton Medlin (2-3) held Jewell to one run on four hits over 3.1 innings.
