Hawks rally for 17-8 win over Maryville

The Rockhurst men's lacrosse team dominated the second half to rally for a 17-8 victory over Maryville Wednesday at RU's Bourke Field.

Down 6-2 at halftime, the Hawks outscored the Saints 15-2 in the second half. Rockhurst went on a 10-0 run to take a 14-7 lead with 5:12 left in the game.

Alec Heflin led the Hawks with five goals, one assist and 16 shots. Heflin scored three goals in 11 minutes in the fourth quarter.

Jake Fisher tallied four goals, two ground balls and two caused turnovers. John Myran collected three goals and one assist. Sam Lindahl posted six assists and two caused turnovers. Hayden Harris finished with eight saves and six ground balls.

Rockhurst finished with 54 shots, including 36 in the second half. The Hawks (4-3, 2-0 GLVC) host Adams State at noon Friday.
