Lions shut down Hawks in the second half

Lindenwood scored 10 unanswered goals in the second half in cruising to a 20-8 victory over 18th-ranked Rockhurst Saturday in St. Charles, Missouri.

The 11th-ranked Lions (1-0) scored four goals in the first eight minutes of the second half to take a 12-7 lead. The Hawks were held scoreless for the first 26 minutes of the second half until Sam Lindahl scored at the 3:52 mark of the fourth quarter.

Rockhurst held three leads in the first half on goals by Ricky Bloom, Alec Heflin and Jake Fisher.

Lindahl, Bloom and Bryce Horstman led the Hawks with two goals apiece. John Myran had a team-high three assists.

Matt Buckley and Matt Campion each tallied three ground balls and one caused turnover. Hayden Harris finished with 14 saves and two ground balls.

The Hawks (2-1) will play 14th-ranked Mt. Olive on Saturday, Feb. 26.
