Early goals lead Hawks to 14-7 win over Davenport

Rockhurst scored the first 11 goals of the game in rolling to a 14-7 conference victory over Davenport Friday night at Bourke Field.

Sam Lindahl scored the first goal less than one minute into the game. The 19th-ranked Hawks would score five more goals before the end of the first quarter and scored another six goals in the second quarter.

Jack Vande Ven led the Hawks with four goals on five shots. Lindahl posted two goals and two assists. Brooks Hanson tallied two goals and one assist. Bryce Horstman added two goals. Ricky Bloom added one goal and one assist.

Zach Cegielski won 13-of-25 faceoffs and collected 10 ground balls. Matt Campion posted three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Luke Leonard tallied three ground balls and one caused turnover.

Rockhurst (2-0) outshot Davenport (0-1), 45-32. Lindahl led the Hawks with eight shots. Bryce Horstman collected eight shots. Hayden Harris and Boomer Kubik combined 13 saves.
