Rockhurst advances to finals with 3-0 win over UMSL

Kenzie Hines posted 21 kills and 15 digs to carry Rockhurst to a 3-0 victory over Missouri-St. Louis in the semifinals of the GLVC Championship Tournament Thursday night in East Peoria, Illinois.

The third-seeded Hawks (20-6) will meet fourth-seeded Lewis (21-8) in the GLVC championship match at noon Saturday. Lewis earned its ticket to the finals with a 3-0 win over top-seeded Quincy.

Rockhurst won the first two sets, 25-13 and 25-21, behind 13 kills from Hines. The Hawks closed out the match with a 25-22 win in the third set with Hines getting eight kills.

Sydney Raszler finished with 12 kills and a .440 hitting percentage. Sarah Pyle collected seven kills. Tera Reberry added six kills and three blocks.

Sarah Montague tallied 40 assists and eight digs. Maureen Reilly had a team-high 19 digs. Freshmen Gracey Janes and Carly Rolf combined for 16 digs.

Rockhurst finished with a .341 hitting percentage. The Hawks collected 53 kills, 64 digs and seven service aces.
