Hawks fall in four sets to Lewis in GLVC title match

Rockhurst captured the opening set before falling to Lewis, 3-1, in the championship game of the GLVC Volleyball Tournament Saturday in East Peoria, Illinois.

The Hawks (20-7) will await the announcement of the NCAA Tournament field Sunday at 9:30 p.m. Rockhurst were ranked fourth in the latest NCAA Midwest Regional rankings.

The Hawks won the first set, 25-21. Lewis stepped up its offensive attack in winning the next three sets.

Kenzie Hines led the Hawks with 15 kills and 13 digs. Sarah Pyle posted 10 kills and three blocks. Sydney Raszler had a team-high four blocks.

Sarah Montague collected 35 assists and 17 digs. Maureen Reilly added 16 digs. Freshmen Gracey Janes and Carly Rolf combined for 17 digs.

Rockhurst finished with 44 kills, 68 digs and five blocks.
