Hawks face key weekend matchups

The Hawks have a 3-0 record at home.
The Rockhurst men's soccer team hopes to get back into the win column this weekend. The Hawks host Indianapolis Friday (7:30 p.m.) and McKendree Sunday (2:30 p.m.).

Rockhurst is now 5-1-3 overall after dropping its first game of the season at Maryville last Sunday. The Hawks are in second place in the GLVC with a 4-1-1 record.

Indianapolis (4-2-3, 2-2-2 GLVC) is coming off a 3-1 win over Truman State on Sunday. The Greyhounds have outscored their opponents 18-8 this season.

Rockhurst leads the series 14-8-3 since 1998. Indy has dominated the series lately with four consecutive wins.

McKendree (4-2-4, 2-1-3 GLVC) tied William Jewell 2-2 last Sunday. The Bearcats are 2-0-3 in their last five games.

Rockhurst, which holds an 6-3-1 advantage over the Bearcats since 2012, fell 2-0 at McKendree last year.

"These are two top-level teams. These next two weekends will be paramount for us to make a statement to the league," said Rockhurst coach Tony Tocco, who has 724 career wins.

Live stats and live streaming will be available for both games. Check the Rockhurst web site for the game links.
