Hawks open the postseason in Indianapolis

RU goalkeeper Andrea Dorella leads the GLVC in save percentage.
The road for Rockhurst to capture another GLVC Men's Soccer Tournament title begins Sunday in Indianapolis. The Hawks face the Greyhounds at 1:30 p.m. Central time in the quarterfinals of the GLVC Tournament.

Rockhurst is making its 14th appearance in the GLVC Tournament but first since 2018. The Hawks have won six GLVC Tournament titles: 2005, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016.

The Hawks finished the regular season with a 7-3-5 overall record and tied for fourth in the GLVC with a 6-3-3 record. Rockhurst received the No. 6 seed after losing tie-breakers to Drury and Illinois Springfield.

Indianapolis (9-3-3, 7-3-2 GLVC) had a seven-game winning streak broken Sunday in a 3-2 loss at Missouri S&T. The Greyhounds have outscored their opponents, 35-14.

Rockhurst leads the series 14-9-3 since 1998. Indy has won the last five meetings, including posting a 1-0 win at Rockhurst back on Oct. 7.

"Indy beat us on our home field and now we have to play them on their home field. Our goal is to beat Indy, move on, and win the conference championship and get into the NCAA playoffs," said Rockhurst coach Tony Tocco, who has 726 career wins.
