Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Falls to No. 8 Lincoln in GLVC Quarterfinals, 1-0

The eighth-seeded Rockhurst University men's soccer team saw its 2026 season come to an end Saturday (Oct. 31) afternoon, falling 1-0 to top-seeded and nationally eighth-ranked Lincoln University in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tournament Quarterfinals at Capital City High School.

Facing an unbeaten Lincoln squad, the Hawks battled throughout the 90-minute contest but were unable to find the equalizer after the Blue Tigers scored the game's lone goal in the first half. Lincoln controlled much of the opening half, outshooting Rockhurst 8-0. The Blue Tigers broke through in the 33rd minute when Nathan Quashie found the back of the net off an assist from Nicholas Asante, giving Lincoln a 1-0 advantage.

Rockhurst goalkeeper Luke Strueby helped keep the Hawks within striking distance, recording four first-half saves to limit Lincoln to a single goal heading into halftime.

The Hawks responded with a stronger offensive effort in the second half, holding Lincoln to just two shots while generating all four of their own attempts. Rockhurst placed three shots on goal in the final 45 minutes but could not break through the Blue Tigers' defense. Troy Lor led the Rockhurst attack with two shots, both on goal, while Elijah Riese added another shot on target. Sam McIntosh also recorded a shot for the Hawks.

Rockhurst finished with four shots, including three on goal, while Lincoln totaled 10 shots with five on target. Strueby finished with four saves in the Hawks' final appearance of the season.

The loss brings Rockhurst's 2026 campaign to a close with a 6-8-4 overall record and a 5-6-4 mark in GLVC play. The Hawks conclude their season with another GLVC Tournament appearance under longtime head coach Tony Tocco.
