Hawks collect 5-2 win over Cardinals

The Rockhurst men's tennis team won their first match of the season with a 5-2 victory over William Jewell Sunday at the Plaza Tennis Center.

Josef Truhlar, Felipe Castellanos, Agustin Cortes and Andres Sahagun won their singles matches. Truhlar won in three sets, while Castellanos, Cortes and Sahagun won in two sets.

Truhlar teamed with Joe Harris to win No. 1 doubles by a 6-4 score. Cortes and Castellanos won No. 2 doubles, 6-1.

The Hawks (1-1) open the spring season on Feb. 4 at home against McPherson College.
