Men post 4-3 win over McPherson

The Rockhurst men's tennis team defeated McPherson College, 4-3, in their first match of the spring season Saturday night at the Northland Racquet Club.

Agustin Cortes clinched the team win with a victory in No. 5 singles in a third set tie-breaker. Josef Truhlar won his No. 2 single match in two sets. Semyon Tsyrenov captured his No. 3 singles match in a third set tie-breaker.

Truhlar teamed with Louis Keiner to win No. 1 doubles by a 6-4 score. Tsyrenov and Joe Harris won No. 2 doubles, 6-3.

The Hawks (2-1) play at Missouri Baptist at 5 p.m. Friday.
