Seniors carry Hawks to 3-0 win over Quincy

The Rockhurst men wrapped up the regular season with a 3-0 victory over Quincy Sunday afternoon at Bourke Field.

Rockhurst ended up in a tie for fourth place in the GLVC standings with a 6-3-3 league record. The Hawks, 7-3-5 overall, will travel to Indianapolis as the sixth seed in the GLVC Tournament on Sunday, Oct. 30.

Jordan Andrews, one of 10 seniors playing in their final home game, contributed to two of the Hawks' goals. Andrews scored RU's third goal on a 15-yard shot from the left side off a pass from senior Elluan Martins Gomes in the 67th minute. He earlier fed a left cross to senior Nate Temm for RU's second goal from 12 yards out in the 17th minute.

Senior Josh Lindell gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead when he knocked in a rebound shot from three yards out in the 12th minute. Seniors Parker Esparza and Connor Blentlinger earned assists on the goal.

Rockhurst posted 20 shots and 13 shots on goal. Andrews led the Hawks with four shots and two shots on goal. Blentlinger added three shots on goal. RU keeper Andrea Dorella posted one save while collecting his ninth shutout of the season.
