Late goal lifts Indy past Hawks in GLVC Tournament

Indianapolis scored in the 89th minute to edge Rockhurst, 2-1, in the quarterfinals of the GLVC Tournament Sunday in Indianapolis.

The Hawks wrap up their season with a 7-4-5 record. UIndy advances to the GLVC semifinals on Friday at Maryville University.

Elluan Martins Gomes gave Rockhurst a 1-0 lead with his third goal of the season in the 25th minute with an assist from Jordan Andrews.

The Greyhounds tied the score in the 42nd minute on a goal by Ibo Yilmaz. UIndy took their first lead of the game on another goal by Yilmaz with 1:19 left in regulation.

Rockhurst tallied six shots and three shots on goal. Andrews led the Hawks with two shots and one shot on goal. RU keeper Andrea Dorella posted 11 saves.
