Rockhurst settles for 1-1 tie with Truman State

The Rockhurst men allowed a late goal to settle for a 1-1 tie with Truman State Friday night at Bourke Field.

The tie leaves the Hawks (6-3-5 overall) in a tie for fourth place in the GLVC with a 5-3-3 league record.

Sophomore midfielder Jacopo Belardo gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute with an assist from Jordan Andrews. Belardo scored on a 20-yard shot right outside the box.

Truman (4-5-6, 3-4-4 GLVC) took advantage of a handball foul to score on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute. Reserve Andy Brennan found the lower right side of the net on his PK.

Rockhurst posted 10 shots and two shots on goal. Belardo led the Hawks with four shots. RU keeper Andrea Dorella collected three saves.

The Hawks end the regular season at home against Quincy (3-10-3, 1-9-1 GLVC) on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
