Hawks settle for 0-0 tie at Illinois Springfield

The Rockhurst men's soccer team battled to a scoreless tie on the road for the third time this season. The Hawks and Illinois Springfield combined for 11 shots on goal in the 0-0 conference battle Friday in Springfield.

Rockhurst (6-2-4 overall) remains tied for third place in the GLVC with 5-2-2 record.

Rockhurst posted six shots and four shots on goal. Elluan Martins Gomes led the Hawks with two shots on goal. Valerio Tatafiore and Winder Pessoa each had a shot turned back by the Springfield goalkeeper.

RU keeper Andrea Dorella posted seven saves in recording his eighth shutout of the season.

The Hawks play at Lewis on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
