Hawks remain unbeaten with 1-0 win over UMSL

Freshman Valerio Tatafiore scored his first career goal and Andrea Dorella posted six saves to lead 17th-ranked Rockhurst to a 1-0 victory over Missouri-St. Louis Friday night at Bourke Field.

The Hawks improved their record to 5-0-3 overall and 4-0-1 in the GLVC.

Tatafiore drilled a 20-yard shot inside the left post off a corner kick from freshman Max Banestig in the 58th minute.

Both teams played the final 12 minutes with 10 players after each team received a red card. A total of five yellow and three red cards were issued.

Rockhurst posted 16 shots and seven shots on goal. Kaden Cripe led the Hawks with five shots and two shots on goal.

Cristoforo LiCavoli tallied three shots and two shots on goal. Jordan Andrews had three shots and one shot on goal. Tatafiore added two shots on goal.

Dorella finished with his sixth shutout of the season and has only allowed two goals all season. He stopped three shots in each half.

The Hawks next face first-place Maryville on Sunday afternoon in St. Louis.
