Hawks open season with 3-0 win over No. 15 Harding

The Rockhurst volleyball team opened the season with a 3-0 victory over 15th-ranked Harding (25-19, 25-19, 25-15) Friday in the Washburn Invitational in Topeka, Kansas.

Averi Vomastic led the 25th-ranked Hawks with 13 kills and 14 points. Maureen Reilly posted 15 digs. Gabbie Inman and Sarah Montague combined for 25 assists and eight digs.
 
Inside the Box Score
• Rockhurst posted a .299 hitting percentage, while holding Harding to an .071 hitting percentage.
• Freshman Tera Reberry totaled six kills and four blocks.
• Rockhurst enjoyed a 36-31 edge in total kills and held a 45-40 advantage in points.

In their second match on Friday, the Hawks fell to 15th-ranked Northern State (24-26, 25-16, 17-25, 25-13). Vomastic led the Hawks with 15 kills and 15 points. Reilly posted 15 digs. Inman and Montague combined for 34 assists and 12 digs.
