Men post 2-0 win at 21st-ranked Maryville

The Rockhurst men scored two goals in the first half on the way to posting a 2-0 victory over 21st-ranked Maryville on Friday in St. Louis. The win snapped the Hawks' four-game losing streak against the Tritons.

Max Pycior scored the first goal off a long free kick by David Ray-Campoy in the 25th minute. Ray-Campoy's free kick went through the fingertips of the Maryville goalkeeper for an easy tap-in for Pycior.

The second goal was scored by Chase Klusman in the 39th minute. Klusman hit a shot from 12 yards into the back right of the goal off a header from Matteo Ruggieri. The goal was set up off a free kick from Gianmarco Donnini.

Rockhurst finished with nine shots and five shots on goal. Adam Burnett led the Hawks with four shots and two shots on goal. Jacopo Belardo and Klusman added two shots apiece. Fabio D'Errico tallied two saves, including a great save at the end of the first half.

The Hawks (3-4, 2-1 GLVC) play at Missouri S&T on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
