Hawks collect road win at Southwest Baptist

Tomasso Tirabassi assisted on both of RU's goals.

Box Score The Rockhurst men broke into the conference win column with a 2-0 victory over Southwest Baptist Sunday in Bolivar, Missouri.

Jacopo Belardo scored midway into the first half off a throw-in and Matteo Ruggieri added an insurance goal off a fast break in the second half.

Belardo found the nets on a 10-yard shot in the 26th minute with assists from Tomasso Tirabassi and Xavier Hadley. Ruggieri knocked in a 12-yard shot in the 90th minute with an assist from Tirabassi.

Rockhurst finished with 16 shots and 11 shots on goal. Elluan Martins Gomes led the Hawks with five shots. Tirrabassi tallied three shots and David Ray-Campoy added two shots. Fabio D'Errico posted two saves.

The Hawks (2-4, 1-1 GLVC) play at Maryville on Friday at 1 p.m.
