Hawks return to Bourke Field this weekend

The home portion of the 2021 Rockhurst men's soccer schedule kicks off this weekend. The Hawks host Colorado-Colorado Springs on Friday (7:30 p.m.) and Fort Hays State on Sunday (3 p.m.).

Rockhurst will be returning to Bourke Field for the first time since beating Quincy 1-0 last April. The Hawks hope to rebound after dropping season-opening games to Rogers State and Midwestern State last week in Oklahoma.

Colorado Springs (1-0-1) is coming off a scoreless tie with Montana State Billings last Sunday. The Mountain Lions opened the season with a 3-2 win at home over Newman. Rockhurst won the two earlier meetings with UCCS in 2008 and 2009.

Fort Hays State (1-1-1) tied nationally-ranked Maryville, 1-1, last Wednesday at Swope Soccer Village. The Tigers lost at Colorado State-Pueblo, 2-1, and edged Metro State Denver, 1-0, at home. The all-time series between Rockhurst and Fort Hays State is tied at 2-2-2.
