Andrews leads Hawks to 4-1 win in home opener

Jordan Andrews scored two first-half goals to lead Rockhurst to a 4-1 victory over Colorado-Colorado Springs in the Hawks' home opener Friday at Bourke Field.

Andrews got the Hawks on the scoreboard in the fifth minute, scoring from 15 yards out with a shot into the back left of the goal. The junior midfielder made it a 2-0 score in the 25th minute with a 12-yard shot into the bottom right.

Chase Klusman gave the Hawks a 3-0 halftime lead with a header in front of the goal off a corner kick in the 43rd minute. David Ray-Campoy capped the scoring in the 74th minute, knocking in a 22-yard free kick into the upper left.

The Hawks finished with 19 shots. Andrews led the Hawks with seven shots and six shots on goal. Adam Burnett posted four shots. Alessandro Macchioni added two assists and two shots. Fabio D'Errico posted one save.

The Hawks, 1-2, host Fort Hays State, 1-1-1, on Sunday at 3 p.m.
