Hawks collect pair of wins at William Jewell

Jack Eisenbarger collected his ninth win of the season to lead Rockhurst to a 3-1 victory over William Jewell in the first game of a conference doubleheader Saturday in Liberty, Missouri.

Eisenbarger held the Cardinals to one run on four hits in seven innings. The senior left-hander struck out 10 and only walked one hitter in his 11th start of the season.

The Hawks scored two runs in the sixth to take a 2-1 lead. Tommy Kraus scored on a passed ball and Nic Mertes doubled home the go-ahead run. Ty Herrenbruck added the final run, scoring on a wild pitch in the seventh.

Rockhurst completed the sweep with a 6-4 win in the second game. The Hawks scored three runs in the seventh to take a 6-3 lead.

Garrett McNally broke a 3-3 tie with an RBI single in the seventh. Nathan Mark doubled home another run and scored the final run on a wild pitch.

McNally led the Hawks with three hits and two RBIs. Tyler Stamer added two hits.

Luke Lancaster pitched the final two innings to pick up his sixth win of the season.

The Hawks (22-17, 19-16 GLVC) close out the regular season at Jewell on Sunday.
