Hawks capture series finale at Quincy

Tommy Kraus posted three hits and drove in two runs to lead Rockhurst to a 7-4 victory over 23rd-ranked Quincy in the final game of a four-game series Sunday in Quincy, Illinois.

Kraus gave the Hawks a 2-1 lead with an RBI double in the fifth. He added a run-scoring single in the sixth to give Rockhurst a 5-2 lead.

Ty Herrenbruck opened the five-run fifth for the Hawks with a solo home run to left field. Ethan Kleinheider had an RBI single and Nathan Mark walked with the bases loaded in the fifth.

The Hawks scored two insurance runs in the ninth on a wild pitch and an RBI single from Connor Ellefson. Mark begin the ninth with a single.

Luke Lancaster (4-2) allowed two runs on five hits in three innings. Michael Hellman held Quincy over the final two innings to pick up his first save of the season.

Rockhurst (16-16, 13-15 GLVC) returns home to host Truman State on Friday, April 30.
