Rockhurst holds off Quincy for 4-3 win

Jack Eisenbarger held off a late Quincy threat to secure a 4-3 victory for Rockhurst in the first game of a conference doubleheader Saturday in Quincy, Illinois.

Eisenbarger (7-1) went the distance to win his seventh consecutive decision. The senior left-hander allowed three runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts. He worked around a pair of two-out singles in the seventh inning.

Nathan Mark led the Hawks with two hits and two RBIs. He gave the Hawks a 4-0 lead in the fifth with a two-run double.

Tyler Stamer put the Hawks in front 1-0 with a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Garrett McNally opened the fourth with a double. Nic Mertes made it 2-0 with a fielder's choice RBI in the fifth.

Quincy hit seven home runs in posting an 18-0 victory in the second game. Quincy begin the four-game series with an 11-1 win on Friday.

The Hawks (15-16, 12-15 GLVC) close out the four-game series with Quincy on Sunday.
