Rockhurst men nab 4-3 win at Quincy

Nicolas Leon won in No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles.

The Rockhurst men's tennis team won a point in doubles and split the six singles match to post a 4-3 victory over Quincy Saturday in Quincy, Illinois.

Martijn Eleveld and Santiago Rodriguez capture No. 1 doubles by a 6-4 score. Simon Birgerson and Nicolas Leon won No. 2 doubles, 6-4. Alex Barnadas and Brian King dropped a 6-2 decision in No. 3 doubles.

Birgerson won his No. 1 singles match, 6-4, 6-1, over Quincy's Kevin Nathan. Leon collected a 6-2, 7-6 win in No. 2 singles. Rodriguez posted a 6-1, 6-4 win in No. 3 singles. Eleveld, Joe Harris and Ermanno Galimberti fell in straight sets in No. 4-6 singles.

The Hawks (5-6, 2-2 GLVC) will be back in action April 21 against Tabor College at the Plaza Tennis Center.
