Hawks shut down Lewis in 12-5 victory

Rockhurst held Lewis to two goals in the second half on the way to posting a 12-5 victory over the Flyers Saturday at RU's Bourke Field.

The Hawks took control of the game early in the fourth quarter, scoring four unanswered goals to take an 11-4 lead with 11:48 left to play.

Sam Lindahl led the Hawks with five points on two goals and three assists. Blake Bellinger and Jake Fisher each scored two goals. Jack Vande Ven and John Myran added one goal and one assist apiece.

Rockhurst outshot Lewis, 54-31, in addition to winning 14-of-20 faceoffs. Lindahl led the Hawks with nine shots. Fisher and Brooks Hanson each had eight shots. Sal Valdivia and Nick Mostrom both won seven-of-10 faceoffs and had five ground balls.

Graden Soucy had four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Hayden Harris collected 10 saves.

The Hawks (6-3) host Indianapolis on Saturday, April 17.
