Hawks rebound to win Game 2 at Springfield

Jack Eisenbarger won his fifth game of the season with a complete game victory over 12th-ranked Illinois Springfield in the second game of a conference doubleheader Friday in Springfield, Illinois.

Eisenbarger struck out 13 over seven innings in the 8-5 win over the Prairie Stars. The senior left-hander allowed five runs on 10 hits.

Ty Herrenbruck gave the Hawks a 3-0 lead with a three-run home run to right field in the third. Nathan Mark added a two-run double in the sixth.

Mark led the Hawks with three hits. Cameron Gardner collected two hits. Ethan Kleinheider added an RBI single in the fourth.

Springfield won the first game, 9-3. The Prairie Stars scored three runs in the third and four in the sixth.

Conner Ellefson drove in two runs with a sacrifice fly in the sixth and a solo home run to center field in the eighth. Tyler Stamer also homered to right field in the eighth.

The Hawks (12-10, 9-9 GLVC) play another doubleheader at Illinois Springfield on Sunday.
